How to Choose an RV Park in Monahans, TX: 6 Things to Check Before You Book

Monahans has a handful of RV parks, and from the highway they can all look about the same. They're not. Whether you're here for one night off I-20, a weekend at the Sandhills, or a six-month oilfield assignment, here are the six things worth checking before you book anywhere — including with us.

1. Are the Hookups Actually Full Hookups?

"Full hookups" should mean electric, water, and sewer at your site — not a shared dump station across the park. Ask whether electric is 30-amp, 50-amp, or both, and whether water and sewer are city services or well and septic. At Sealy Street, every one of our 100+ sites has 30/50-amp electric plus city water and sewer.

2. Is the WiFi Real?

Plenty of parks advertise WiFi that only works within 50 feet of the office. If you work remotely or stream in the evenings, ask whether the WiFi reaches every site and whether it costs extra. Ours is high-speed, park-wide, and free.

3. Who's There When Something Goes Wrong?

A power pedestal fails at 10pm. A water line leaks on a Sunday. At many parks, you're leaving a voicemail for someone in another town. Ask if there's a manager who actually lives on the property. Our manager does — and also accepts your mail and packages, which matters more than you'd think on a long stay.

4. In Town or Out on the Highway?

Parks outside town mean a drive every time you need groceries, dinner, or a laundromat. Sealy Street is inside Monahans city limits: restaurants are minutes away, there's a laundromat right across the street, and Monahans Sandhills State Park is about a 5-minute drive.

5. Are the Rates Transparent?

6. What Do Guests Say?

Read recent reviews on Google, TripAdvisor, or Campendium — not the ones on the park's own website. Look for patterns: how the park handles problems tells you more than a five-star rave.
